Fun things happen at Leadership!!

 

Hello!

Do you recognize who's in the photo above? It's TY Pennington from the Show "Extreme Home make over". One of the evenings when we were in San Antonio, we were walking on the River Front and they were filming the last show that will be airing December 2012. We heard through the grapevine that a Military Personnel was injured overseas and now the family's house had also burned down. They were the recipents of the new home. There sure were lots of military people around during our next couple of days of visiting!

Below is a shot of Ty where he turns the video camera around and films himslef talking about the family and the house that they are building.

My son, Andrew was especailly excited to see these photos as he absloutely loves this show!

 

A Christmas parade of boats followed as sailed right pass where Ty was standing. The River walk was decorated with Christmas lights on the trees. It was so cool!!

 

and last but not least... Santa himself and Mrs Claus too!!

Day two!!

Hi there!

I know two posts in one day... crazy hey??

I just have so much to share! LOL!!

Here are some pictures of the stage. The theme for this year's conference was "My Way". What it means is that being a Stampin up! demo, you can choose to run your business completely your way. Everyone is different, and what works for one person's business may not work for another's. I just love this! Being a demonstrator, has allowed me to be in total control of how I do things, when I do my classes, book my workshops and how I spend my time being creative. "My Way" has evloved and changed many times over the past 9 years of being a demo. Through working full time as a Lab Tech and dealing with shift work to having a new born baby, and now having a teenager and a 6 year old... my life has changed but I have comfort knowing I can do things "My Way".

You see, this is the beauty of being a Stampin up! demonstrator. You can choose how little or how much you want to work. There's room for everyone in this company from hobby Demo all the way to career Demo. What would you like to be? There's room for you too!!

Leadership highlights!!

Well I've uploaded all my photos... almost 1000 of them!! LOL!

Here's a picture of Chrsitine,Me and Lisa at the beginning of our trip just as we arrived in San Antonio. So excited!!

On Wednesday, our first day.. we enjoyed our make and take session with my closest Stampin up!friends! It was so much fun to stamp with these wonderful ladies!!

Then we enjoyed a walk along the river fornt and a wonderful Mexican lunch, complete with live music at our table!

Later, we all enjoyed a fabulous evening for Manager's reception with Appetizers followed by an amazing performance by Chinese Acrobats. We were on the edge of our seats as they performed their unbeliveable acts!!

 

When the show was over we  walked out into the lobby and we were greeted by Stampin up! staff who were handing our our new stamp sets with chop sticks (that had Stampin up! engraved in them) attached. Here's Lisa and Chrsitine with their new sets...

Sorry for the long post.. and I know I've not attached any stamped projects... I gotta run and take Amanda to piano but I'll be back later with some onstage projects to show you from Day 2!

For today's share, I promised I would show you the fun gifts my wonderful Stampin up! friends gave me!! I was deeply touched by the thoughtfulness and creativity of these girls. Being a part of Stampin up! is wonderful for so many reasons but I truly treasure the friendships I have because I am a demonstrator. There is nothing more special than a hand stamped gift!

Great to be back home!!

Hello!

I am back home safe and sound from San Antonio!! Leadership was absloutely amazing and I am returning with loads of ideas and excitement for 2012!! It's going to be a fantastic year!!

I have so many pictures to share with you of our adventures, I just have to get them uploaded. Check back often as I have much to share in the upcoming days!!

Today, I have a fun project  to share that I made for  my wonderful Stampin friends I met at Leadership...

Yep... I got my sewing machine out for this one! LOL!! And it was fun too!! LOL!!

These little Scented Saches were made using the new fabric from the Occasions mini called Twitterpated. I just cut the fabric (as well as the batting in the middle) using the scallop square die and my beloved Big Shot. Did you know that the Big Shot will cut through up to 8 layers of fabric at once?? Amazing!!

The batting is scented with just a few drops of Georgia Peach scented oil and placed in the middle of the scallops. I sewed the button on first to one of the squares and then I used my sewing machine to stitch around the sides. Easy Peasy!!

Here they are all lined up and smelling great!!

Just wait till you see my post tomorrow and all the gifts my talented friends gave me!!! I know... I'm bad aren't I ?? LOL!!

Day one !!!

Hello!!
Day one was great !!! We headed back to our hotel and met up with friends from Calgary who were sweet to let us store our bags in their room until our room was ready. Thanks girls !!! Then we got our bags !!! I love it !!! Its fabric ( a new kind) and it has a removable bottom piece that's attached with buttons! Then we headed to make and takes and sitting on our table was a fantastic fabric gift from Shelley that matches our bags !!! Love it !!!

my best Stampin up buds!! Then we headed out for a walk along the river and had lunch at the yummiest Mexican restaurant !!!
Last night we enjoyed a fantastic performance by A Chinese Acrobatics group for managers reception. They were absolutely amazing!!!
Just finished a workout cuz everything is bigger in Texas LOL!!!

We made it !!

Good morning!!!
We made it safe and sound here in San Antonio!
We had no travel glitches this time (so far anyways) BUT we checked in at the Grand Hyatt and our room smelled like very strong carpet cleaner! We entered the room and could only stay a few minutes as the smell was so strong ! They said the people who stayed in the room last night had a big mess and they had to shampoo the carpets. The hotel was good about it and gave us a free night at their sister hotel 4 blocks away and we are supposed to get a room ( non smelly hopefully) back their tonight for the rest if our trip. We also got free breakfasts , free Internet and free cabs back and forth. We are happy with the free night :)
So we are up and getting ready for a fun day of picking up our bags, make and takes and Managers reception tonight!!! Can't wait!!

Hey there!
Just a quick post as I am at the airport awaiting to board the plane for San Antonio!
Stampin up leadership conference starts tomorrow!
I wanted to see if blogging from my iPhone will work, so this is my experimental post!
This card features The new framelits and I am in love with them!!!
The cherries are embossed with cherry scented embossing powder!! I wish you could smell this card ... It is yum!!!!

A new punch!!

Hello!

Oh my.. the new Occasions mini catalogue has some many fun new things!! Where do I start... how about with my favorite product... a new punch!!!

There's a new punch called Blossom and on this card I used it to punch the background piece behind the Happy Birthday stamp. The catalogue also has a stamp set that co-ordinates with it called Mixed bunch. so pretty!

This card also has my favorite embellishment from the Occasions mini catalogue. It's the 3/8 inch Pleated satin ribbon and here it's seen in Blushing Bride. It also comes in Pear Pizzazz, Ridinghood red, and Baja Breeze. Isn't it beautiful?? Also featured on this card are the new designer buttons called Twitterpad. I love the little detail that buttons add to a card!!

The color scheme for this card was Very Vanilla and Soft Suede cardstock and the pattern paper is from the Beau Chateau Designerseries paper pack. The Happy Birthday is from the stamp set called Fabulous phrases in the main Idea Book and Catalogue. I just love this set!!
