Today I have a project I'd like to share with you using the Big Shot Die called Dresden Designs BigzL.
I'm backing it up a bit today, to share some of the things I was busy creating in Decemeber and I never got the chance to post them. :)
Last summer, at Convention we learned how to make these fun Mug cozies and I couldn't wait to try it! So, I made a few of these for Christmas gifts.
Here's how the project starts out... I actaully cut through two two pieces of fabric and the batting liner all at once through the big shot. It cuts just like butter through all these layers!!
I cut two of the "Big petals" and stitched them together at the front and I also attached a hair elastic on one ened and a Vintage faceted Button on the opposite end. ( these are free by the way with Sale-A-Bration)
The flowers in the middle were also cut with the Big Shot using the Fun Flowers Bigz L die. I sprayed them with a little fabric starch, scrunched them, and let them dry overnight. In the morning, I stitched them all together and to the mug cozie with another button.
I found these awesome Chocolate chip colored mugs at a "famous" coffee shop and they were perfect for this project! I was thinking later, that you could attach multiple buttons at different places and then the recipient could use their mug cozie with any type of mug or travel mug. They would have several different buttons to choose from when wrapping their cozie around.
Here's a look at all 4 of them. I filled them with a cello bag with hot chocolate & marshmallows and I tied a small single serving size bottle of Baileys to the bag. (This was an adult gift Tee hee) I sure hope the girls who recieved these enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them. It's always fulfilling to give handmade gifts from the heart.
The fabric for these cozies was in the holiday catalogue which is finsihed now but Stampin up! has tons of other fabric to choose from in case your interested!
Hope your having a great day and i'll be back tomorrow!!
