Quick cards

Global Design Project 194 Sketch Challenge for Facebook Friday

For my past facebook Friday Live, I was inspired to create a project using this week's sketch challenge posted over at the Global Design Project site.

For this card, I pulled out my Follow your Art Embellishment kit for some inspiration. This kit has so many wonderful elements. I especially love the felt accents with the white stitching. The felt comes in four different Stampin up! colors, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana and Crushed Curry. Check out those adorable charms and the clips! So much fun!

If you'd like to watch the replay of my Face book Friday live you can click here for my Facebook Business page

Here's the card I made on my live video...

Such a fun and easy card to create! I absolutely love the Button Button embossing folder for the  background texture!

Here's a look at the other colors of felt accents from the kit...

Below you will find a list of all the things I used to create my cards. If you click on any of the images you will see a larger image and you can access my online store to order. So easy! If you place a minimum $30 from any where across Canada, by Midnight on Monday, June 24th, I will send you all of the cut pieces to make these 4 cards. Be sure to add your very own Follow your Art Embellishment kit so you can jazz up your cards with these gorgeous accents too!

Thanks for coming to visit my blog today!

Lest we Forget

Today is Remembrance Day here in Canada. A day to reflect and remember all those who have served for our Country and those that continue to bring Peace in our world.

It is such a humble experience to think about all that they have sacrificed for our freedom. So I took a few minutes of quiet time in my Stamp room to think of them and to express myself the way I enjoy the most. Through my card making.

This hobby warms my heart and fills my soul as I express myself through stamps ink and paper.

My time to myself is always therapeutic and it makes me so grateful.

I am also grateful to you for stopping by today to check out my blog.

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween!

Today I have a long post as I'd like to update you with some fun Halloween projects I've been busy with.

First, I have a card using the Mr Funny Bones Stamp set from the Holiday Catalogue. I have had so much fun playing with this photopolymer set! You can make so many different skeletons in different poses with this set!

Mr Funny Bones is definitely a keeper! LOL

Check out the Hand Sanitizer boxes I made using this set. I used Erica Cerwin's tutorial for these fun boxes! Check it out on her blog http://pinkbuckaroodesigns.blogspot.ca

I made a bunch for my daughter, Amanda to take to all of her teachers and the admin staff at her school. Also I made a bunch for may sister, Barb to hand out at the Pharmacy as she was giving flu shots to her patients. Such a fun thing to do for Halloween and Flu season!

I also couldn't wait to use these fun Test Tubes that came in the September Paper Pumpkin kit. I made this quick and easy card to hold them in the spine.

Here's a look at the inside, a little treat for a book lover!

I also want to share with you my Scrapbook pages for my scrapbook club in October. I've used so many new Stamps, Dies, Designer series papers and embellishments on these pages and I had a blast creating them!

I also got busy on Pinterest as I found an idea for matching costumes for Amanda and I. We went as "Dead or Alive" half skeletons. This was so much fun to put together with cheap clothes from value Village and a bit of white felt and iron on adhesive from the fabric store.

Here's or "alive" side...

and our "Dead" side...

I made a shirt for my hubby, Kevin, but he skipped the make up part! LOL

Every year, he does a great job carving the pumpkins with Amanda. Check out this year's pumpkins...

Today I would like to share a fun layout for a card  that I got from Heather Summers. We did a similar card in my Stamper's club this month and the ladies said they would like the measurements for the card, so I thought I would share them here.

This idea could be used for many different cards and not just Christmas.

Here I used the stamp set Merry Crittermas....I LOVE this set!!

Here's how the card opens...

I love gift card holders! they are so versatile...it seems that everyone could use a gift card...even the pickiest person on your list!

Here's the recipe for this fun card...

  • Cut cardstock 4-1/4 x 11 inches
  • Score along the 11 inch side at 2 - 3/4 inches, 4 inches, 5-1/4 inches, and 8-1/4 inches.
  • Fold score lines according to the picture above and apply adhesive under the flap for the gift card holder part. Be careful not to put your adhesive too close to the top part where the opening for your gift card will be.
  • Use the word window punch to "carve out" the gift card opening. You may need to do this twice across to make the opening wide enough for the card.
  • Fold up the card and embeliish with stamps, punches etc.
  • Use a or a clip or a Velcro dot to keep card closed

Have fun whipping up a few of these cards! I'd love to see a picture of your creations! :)

Take care and I'll see you tomorrow!
